What seems to be the popular configuration? Meaning Double Threaded, or Slip Fit on top, threaded or slip on the bottom?

I would prefer Slip on top so you wouldn't have to worry about turning any piping in your overflow (cramped space). Then I think I would rather go with Threaded down below, but is it threaded on the inside as well as the outside? I think I will end up going with a hose barb, hose clamp style.
There were hoses that came with my sump, but they are the vacuum hose type style with slip fittings on the ends. That scares me a bit...surely everyone uses some type of clamping system right?

Also, did you buy your Overflow piping or did you make your own setup?

I prefer slip to slip. Less chance of leaking. I run a Bean Animal so there are differences but still prefer slip.

How do you ensure that the Slip Fit does not come off of the Bulkhead fitting? I've just started looking for these, so I am not familiar with the Slip Fit. In the industry I am in, we always use Barb and Hose Clamp...or for low pressure, we use Polytite type fittings.

PVC glue on the external slip joint but don't glue the internal joint.

So you are using a separate fitting that slips into the Bulkhead?
I'm assuming it slips into the Bulkhead (which is why you wouldn't want to glue that one), then the other side you are gluing to the drain hoses?
If so, how does the slip fit that goes into the Bulkhead stay seated?

A 3/4" schedule 40 slip bulkhead will accept 3/4" schedule 40 PVC. On the outside of the tank you glue it into the bulkhead with PVC glue so it won't leak. On the inside of the tank you don't care if it leaks so don't use any glue. That way if you need to you can remove that portion later. But it is a tight fit so it should not come off.

Last time i ordered i got a free crabby patty
