I currently dose nitrate using potassium nitrate. Someone mentioned to me that I should consider dosing calcium nitrate instead since duh calcium is actually useful to the livestock.
The issue I am having is all I can find is either fertilizer (15.5-0-0) or ACS grade. I worry that the fertilizer will have contaminants and the ACS grade is about $500 a bottle with maybe 250 or 500 grams.
I was thinking that maybe a marine plants place might carry it as fertilizer so I am looking there now. I thought I would ask if anyone is using calcium nitrate and where they source it.
