A few weeks ago I turned off my calcium reactor because my calc was 500 ish according to my API and Sera test kits. My alk was about 8 dkh, and Mag was 1200 so I decided to leave it off, slowly raise alk to 11dkh ish, and see what happened.

It has taken a while, but tonight finally my calc has reached about 450 and my alk is 10. Should I run my reactor now and try to maintain this load? I am trying to get this thing balanced out. Here are the particulars that may be useful:

140 gal, 40 gal sump, approx 260 lbs LR total including sump rubble
temp avg 79
SG 1.027
alk 10dkh
calc 450
salt is Reef Salt, Seachem, WC once weekly
reactor is a MRC 2 with spraybar and small/med media in both cambers, mag 2 recirc
have not checked magnesium recently
TOPPING off with Kalk via deltec stirrer @ 2 minutes 4 times daily

Any tips other than the stuff that is stated in the MRC manual?

I'm also assuming mag needs to come up to more of a 3:1 ratio (if I remember correctly). Any product recommendations? Never really dosed it before.

Hey chris I rarely check my calcium mostly my Alk. My corals love it huge growth man. Last time I checked calcium was off the chart my kit supplied. But alk stays at 10-11 DKH everything seems fine.

450 is where I keep mine. Good growth. Make sure mag is 1300.

I use magnisum choride from http://www.twopartsolution.com">http://www.twopartsolution.com</a>

Reduce your flow and bubble count to reduce the amount your reactor produces.

I think they changed their name to bulkreefsupply.............

however, bulkreefsupply or warnermarine
