I have a Korallin 3002 reactor that I have 90% full of Carib Sea Coarse ARM media. I have noticed several other members who have their reactors about half full. Is there an advantage to having it half full or full?

Just trying to figure out if I should take some media out

Thanks

Tyson

I am not familiar with the Korallin reactor. There is a return pipe to the pump that circulates the water throughout the reactor. I believe as long as there is no way media can enter the return pipe into the pump you are fine.

If media enters the pump, it might break the impeller.

Edit: Looking at the 3002 reactor, you should not have anything to worry about. The return pipe that I am referring to is common on the reef octopus and some others.
