Calcium Reactor

Most ppl have it 6.3-6.6. Mines and everyone I know sets it at 6.5 with a 2per/sec drip rate

Mine is at 4.6... does that mean I have too much CO2 going in?

I counted ~60 bubbles per minute

Turn your CO2 off now. If your pH reading is accurate, you will quickly liquify your reactor media at that pH and shoot up your KH to 18+. You could kill all your fish and corals. If you don't know what you are doing with a reactor right now, I suggest you disconnect it until you are able to educate yourself about them.

You can start here with this Primer I wrote a while back. There are many other articles on the web and other reef sites as well.

Thanks. I just tested it and it was 6.8KH/123 ppm using a Hanna Checker. Regardless, I turned it off. Off to calibrate my probe.

I'm confused... Did u check what's in ur reactor? Alk inside reactor is irrelevant

PH Probe was not calibrated... 7.09 now

Edit:

Nope, alk in the main tank. The PH probe was not calibrated.

You asked what the pH inside your reactor should be, then in the next post you stated "it is at 4.6." Anyone reading would take it you just said "the pH in my calcium reactor is 4.6."

Are you confused as to what terms you should be looking at? What and where is 4.6? Are you talking pH or dKH? And if you are referring to KH, are you referring to dKH or meq?

You are going to have to be a bit more specific as to what and where if you want any meaningful help from anyone.

Thanks for your help. Initially, I wanted to know what the PH inside of the reactor should be - mine was running at 4.6 and I thought that was odd.

I went to the LFS to pick up some calibration fluid. I calibrated my probe and it seems to be normal now.

I tested my alk with a hanna checker and it came out to 123 ppm.

Sorry for any confusion and thanks always for the help!
