ok guys i need some help with my plumbing i have a 4X2X2 120 with dual over flows one in each corner. can you guys post pics of your plumbing/sump? just trying to get some ideas of what to do..

I dont have a pic but both of my overflows come together with a t joint into one chamber. The return line is again t and shoots off into seperate return lines. Might not be the best setup buy works well for me.

i was thinking of putting a line on the return so i could do easy water changes. and mabe ruing one of m drains to the skier and one to the fuge?? any thoughts on this?

here is a couple for you. the first link is huge over 50 pages. the 2nd one is small but lots of pics

This is how I plumbed my 150 and......LOVE IT!

no offense, but if you're new to the overflow business you really need a fellow reefer to come over and help you plumb it in.. it can be confusing, and if you're like me... seeing it makes a LOT more sense than reading about it :)

it will cause a lot of turbulence for a fuge IMO

I would just run them to the same compartment in the sump, and if you're going to have a fuge just pass the water through that compartment.

ALSO, as you probably know, you don't HAVE to have a fuge at all.. It has always been my thinking that unless you have a LARGE fuge it really doesn't make a difference.. again JUST MY OPINION on that.

I would MUCH rather have the area for more reactors / pumps :)

i ave te overflows and stuff in the tak already.. all i eed is to plumb it nder the tank.. seeing it is better for me tats why im askig for pics.. what about my idea to plumb in a line to make water changes easy..

One should vacuum the substrate while changing water so having something plumbed off the drains or whatever, may make one part easy, but complicate another.

Keep your infrastructure simple. Vacuum when you water change. Some things shouldn't have short cuts.

hey I have seen you post a lot in peoples stand threads. I just built my stand for my 120 and didn't put any supports in the back just the two at the end. Will this be ok or do I need some support back there I wanted ti keep it open so I could get the sump in and out easy

depends on the boards used to go left and right. a 2x6 is stronger than a 2x4 and a lot stonger than a 1x4.

as for the WC. i have mine plumb to do wc but i also vacuum the sand some. either way i have the sw mixer plumb to fill the sump.
