I’ve been dosing neo nitro for about 2 weeks now and I’m doing what they recommend on the bottle but can’t keep them above .05. Sometimes I get a spike up to my target but a few hours later when I test again it’s back down to .05 or 0. What can I do to keep them there.

I have dinos that I’m trying to get rid of. Just finished a 48 hour blackout and it helped a lot but I just want to get them up a little bit more to finish everything off. And I like to keep my nitrates around five in my system.

Got it. From my personal experience, I used a UV to beat dinos, worked great.

It took a combo of methods to get rid of dinos for me. Aside from UV and microbacter products, dosing 3% hydrogen peroxide did the trick. I dosed 1ml per 10 gals once a day after lights out for a couple of weeks. They say it’s supposed to be safe but it definitely got a reaction from my nems, zoas, and urchins so be cautious, but it works.

I increased my tank temp slowly to 82 and ran a UV sterilizer after lights out, and dosed microbacter7. Got rid of Dinos pretty well for me.

How bad are the dinos? Can you just keep what you’re doing, maybe increase the dosage or feeding of the fish?
