Can a carpet anemone split?q

This one is a foot wide. Will it split or just continue to grow? Just curious.

IME it just grows. My red one grew to a point it took over a 90 gallon.

The only ones I've seen split in captivity are Entemacea quadricolor - Bubble Tip (any colour).

I've heard a few claims of Macrodactyla doreensis splitting (Long-Tentacle Anemone) but the ones I've seen have turned out to be Bubble Tips that were misidentified. Many folks confuse the two when the Bubble Tip's tips aren't bubbled - which happens quite frequently.
