I get out to one of my tanks today and notice that a 5" Raccoon Butterfly is missing. They told me they saw 'em on days ago, on Friday . So I start looking around in crevices for any trace of him and this monster is what I find.

He now has a new home in Brandon's, our dear ARC president, cryptic sump. He's lucky I didn't feed him to a puffer and a few triggers. The crab that is, not Brandon. He was lucky to have the crab... and I've digressed. Anyway, what do you guys think?

That was my first thought, but he's waaay too thick. He's probably an 1.25" in height.

Carpilius maculatus maybe?

Or caripilus badmamajamus?

It looks like a Shameface Crab...Calappa granulata. </em>Or at least the pattern is close to one. The eyes look rather far apart for one though.

You should eat that thing. With a bowl of fava beans and a nice chianta. Pbppbppbbbpbpbpptt!!

I actually tried feeding one of those things to a puffer and some triggers. Big ones too, and they couldnt eat it! Shell was to thick!
