I was looking at my tank earlier, and I started noticing some movement in the sand. The closer I looked, the more I saw these little guys walking around.

They look like they walk around with their tails tucked underneath as they move around and they like to be curled up it seems.

I just wanted to know if they are bad in the reef or if I should work to remove them.

Thanks!

Oh awesome! That is great news! Those things are crawling all over. I've never seen them that big.

The big ones that are sort of flea-looking (maybe a bit larger than a flea) are Amphipods. Copepods tend to be a bit smaller.

Both are Arthropods and are beneficial for your tank, and many species of fish will eat them if they encounter them.
