Can i add a vlamingi tang to my tank?
Tank is 5 x 2 x 2...
Existing tank mates are a purple and yellow tang.
Is this the same? http://www.reefs2go.com/product/F-TANG-LOPEZI/Lopezi-Unicorn-Tang.html">http://www.reefs2go.com/product/F-TANG-LOPEZI/Lopezi-Unicorn-Tang.html</a>
And it says its up to 10 inches but only requires a 70 gallon??

Just fishing for thoughts or experiences... thanks guy

The vlamingi and lopezi are actually 2 different species....and 70 gallons?....if it's small maybe....but a full grown adult would probably be more comfortable in a larger tank....especially with usually more aggressive zebrasoma species...not saying it has to be in a large tank....but it never hurts...btw....when ya want them frags?

thanks for the input but i prob pass both of these fish will out grow my tank. You wonder why that site suggest a 70 gallon for min size. Guess i just wanted to hear others experience with those fish...

And ill grab those from you this week sometime once i get back in town so expect a pm early next week...

Rolo, thoughts on this guy....
"Acanthurus maculiceps"

Sorry im bored late nite style and just researching for interesting fish

Well the mature adult size like many acanthurus should be anywhere between 15-18 inches or so....or robb would say 45-55cm....so they get pretty big....larger than the clown or Achilles tangs by 2-3 inches (5-8cm....haha)...they probably won't be as aggressive....but than again with a purple and yellow...it could no doubt hold it's own.

Honestly the few tangs that would probably be small enough would be one of the ctenochaetus genus....like a tomini(one of my personal favourite)...kole(Hawaiian), spotted kole(indian...very cool fish), chevron, and Flavicauda(sp?)....looks like a kole tang but with a bright white tail....tomini and kole tang should be easy to get....the spotted kole and the rest not so much....and they can be on the high price side....
