Started noticing this white cottony looking stuff in different places on my live rock. Anybody seen it before?

how old is the tank setup? anything new added like new rock?

The only thing I can think of is a bacteria bloom of some sort. What happens when you touch it ?

It looks like some sort of filter feeding organism. I have had it before and it never really grew. Maybe a type of sponge.

Actually looks like a tunicate. You can see the round part of the siphon.

Thanks guys. It always boggles my mind how this stuff just makes its way into our tanks. I lost all my pineapple sponges about a month ago but I guess this makes up for it.
