hey,
can i put a purple tang that gets max 10 inches and a max 9 inch powder blue tang and a Kole Yellow Eye Tang in a 155 bow front aquarium and not have to upgrade the aquarium at all.

with 2 cardinal fish and 2 clownfish

My advice is buy all three at once, QT all three at the same time and introduce all three at the same time. Do NOT stagger it since purples are mean as heck, powder blues are acanthuras which isnt too sweet. You may be able to get a powder blue and kole eye to get along but there is a chance of fighting. Something like a naso would be nice, however you would eventually need to re-home it in a few years since they get massive.

Koles are Ctaenochaetus genus and PB are Acanthurus genus. They will be fine together. I agree with the rest.

Kole Tangs also stay pretty small in tanks. I've never seen one more than about 5-6 inches in a home aquarium.

I have seen them dinner plate size in some reef documentaries, however. The Blue Planet series has a segment that show a bunch of Kole and Black tangs swarming a sea turtle to clean algae of his shell, and the Koles were HUGE!

I have been researching Achille's and Naso's with 2 other big poopers and everyone is saying double your flow and double your skim and you'll be fine. So I have a Mag 12 with 4.5ft of head and looking at 2 Koralia 1050s or 1400s. I am running a Coralife 125 SS on it now until I stock it then going to upgrade to a Reef Octopus 200.

Surprised no one asked about the rock amount as tank size + rock amount really dicatate the amount of usable space. If you have a moderate to light rock amount then it should be cool. Tons of rock - not so cool.

good point... I have the 2L (does 200g) of Seachem Matrix in the sump but plan on VERY LITTLE rock in the display to provide swimming room...
