Wicked ones there..kinda pricey but beautiful ones that are not so common

I have 2 Crocea Clams which are the smallest of the giant's, but also one of the most colorful. As Barb said, you have to have Calcium & Alk maintained by supplication 24-7 before you have a clam. How much pink calcareous algae do you have?

oh yeah, the smaller the clam that you purchase, the harder they are to keep alive. Clamsdirect or liveaquaria

thanks yall! the tank has been up since august.. and i dont think i have a single bit of rock that isnt covered in pink or red. we dose with purple up 2x a week most of the time. ive never checked my cal levels.. guess ill need to buy a test for that.

IMO, purple-up will not maintain your soluable calcium. If you plan on Clams & Stony's, you should be on a supplemental plan such as 2-part, Kalk, Reactor, etc.

take a look:

This can really help ya!
here you go:

"I do not recommend it. I do not think it a useful additive (same for Purple Up). The aragonite in it will not actually dissolve in seawater. Any impact you see on test kits (calcium or alkalinity) is likely a false reading as suspended solids dissolve during calcium and alkalinity testing.

I review that sort of product here:

Calcium Carbonate as a Supplement
