Can the powerhead magnet for outside of glass can be inside the saltwater?

I am under impression that it will rust and cause problems down the road.
Just wondering if anyone know if it is possible or not?

Does the magnet that is on the inside of the tank look different than the magnet outside? Disregarding the pump mount.
