Candy cane stung

My hammer stung a few heads on my candy cane. Do things generally recover? Or do I need to remove those heads before the rest dies? The rest looks fine.
 
I doubt there's a need to remove them. Worst case scenario is they die and you can cut the exposed skeleton after the fact.
 
Ok that works for me. Do they ever heal up if u just leave them be?

+1 Some stings are more potent than others and sometimes they will recover and sometimes they won't. But, generally the damage doesn't spread to other branches like SPS does.
 
This happened to me when my turbo snail knocked my candy canes into some acans, the acans ate the flesh right off the candy canes. Good news is that it grew back within a couple weeks.
