Candy Canes Dropping its Heads

I was given a candy cane a few months back to help rescue and it has been doing...well not much. A couple of weeks ago, it dropped 4 of the heads off. I left them on the sand bed and when I was looking at them tonight, they look better then when they were on its skeleton.

Is this normal or was the light too strong and they were trying to move away from it?

Are the head saggy? If so test ur mag and calcium

The heads were more retracted than anything. Nothing has changed since they dropped, but they look really full on the bottom of the tank.
