anyone had any luck or bad luck with them? i am sitting up a 10gal for my dad and it has been up for a week or so and it will be a few more weeks before i put anything in it but he has fell in love with them and thats what he wants so any info anyone can give me from you exp with them would be good

I was going to get one as well but its cold water and I didnt want to do that.

yeah thats where he seen them i gave him that site to see what he liked he loves my flame but they are way to big for a 10gal. if thats what we put in the tank it will be the only thing nothing else but the clean up crew

well the light is just the one you get with it at walmart with some coralife bulbs in it so is that too much heat?

Steve Weast has an amazing cold water tank.

YOu really don't need to worry about lighting in a cold water system.

lol do i really need a pc if it will just be a fowlr? i mean my 45 just has the stock lights on it and the fish are fine

Lighting doesn't matter in a fo, so that fixture is fine. I would reccomend against the catalina, but if you must then make sure you are prepared. Check out the sponsors, many of them carry chillers.

If you want to get a chiller, tank, etc. Your also gonna need a 1" thick acrylic tank. Anything less and you will have a mess. The tank will sweat really bad. Good luck.

ok well it looks like im going to try to talk him out of it lol. what would be something we can do with the tank like what can we put in there that will not be a pain in the ### to keep

It would be a cool softy tank. Maybe some neat shrooms, etc. A coralife PC fixture would be fine w/ them.
