I just don't have any luck when it comes to skimmers. I have a octopus extreme 200 (old model) and its been up for a little over a month now. When I first got it, it was making wet bubbles and would overflow. So I got an egg create to lift it up some and it was working great. I was getting green slime that's collecting in the cup. I wake up this morning and its overflowing and some of it leaked in to the cabinet. What could cause this?

Do you run carbon? For some reason that seems to help with touchy skimmers. I'm sure there's science behind that but I don't know the reason why.

Have you used any epoxy (ie to fasten coral frags)? Or any additives or supplements that might have polymers in them? Those can make a skimmer go berserk too.

Nope I don't run any carbon. How would I go about running carbon?

I don't use epoxy but I did put some corals that I got someone that was might have some epoxy. Its a kenya tree attached to a square piece. Should I just take them off that stuff?
