Internal? It sounds so. If yes it would depend on the aquascaping you plan because they can influence your rock work. Personally I would do a center, because I like a symmetric look.
If this is to be a one internal overflow tank, then I'd look at a corner overflow. That for the reason it is easier to place a Vortech for flow in the middle of the back of tank that way.
why place the vortech in the back and not at one side? just curious. I'm a newbie with big tanks. I like a symmetric looks also. Do the corner over flows take up more space?

A typical Vortech placement is one on the left and one on the right, with one on the back if you are using the EcoSmart Modes. I have a 30 x 30 x 24 cube type tank with a center back overflow. I have one Vortech MP40wES pump on the back glass to the right of the overflow. I really need one on the left back glass as well because you won't get flow to all areas with one pump.
