change in skimmer bubbles

I just switched from felt bags to mesh bags. Right after I made the change, I noticed large bubbles in my skimmer. I assume that there was some sort of residue from the bags that caused this??
I guess it's possible that somehow I clogged the skimmer when removing the dirty felt socks. Has anyone ever noticed this when putting in new mesh bags? I always turned my skimmer off after putting the felt socks through the laundry as the left over residue would cause the skimmer to surge. Thoughts?

yeah it could be you're getting more air through than the felt ones and it effecting your skimmer. Tell us this how close is your skimmer intake in relation to the filter sock?

The skimmer is back to working normally this morning. It had to be some sort of residue on the new mesh bags.

Everytime I change socks, this happens. Back to normal after a few min.
