Ok I'm getting new black sand so what Is the replacement process? For example pull out all corals, then pull out all live rock, then pull out fish, then get ll sand out, etc.... Please help
I wouldn't. I would vacuum the load sand out a little at a time. It won't hurt to have no sand for a while unless you have sand sifting critters or wrasses. You can take out half the tank and fill it with new sand then do the other half. Just make sure that all the crud in the old sand is being vacuumed and not released into the water. Do it over a few days.
I mean ill just work from one side of the tank to the other that'll work just fine can I just put it in the water? It won't float away everywhere? Any easy suggestions on adding it?
Look up the "Bottle Trick" for adding sand on You Tube. It is a great way to add sand without the dust storm. In addition, I would rinse the sand several times before putting it in the tank. Get rid of as much of the fine particles as possible.
One bit of advice. I hear that a lot of the black sand has magnetic particles. Don't get your mag float to close or you will end up scratching your tank.
