Here's an interesting article over at Advanced Aquarist:

Dana Riddle is talking about using cheap-o party lights from Home Depot as a replacement for regular actinics. I was surprised by the results...

Anyone around here trying this on your own tank?

I was going to try these on my 5.5 when I first started it, but ended up going with my nova extreme instead because I had my doubts. I used the daylight over my FW tank, and in that tank the plants and algae grew like crazy.

Ha, has anyone tried to add a disco ball too?

Are clown fish more likely to have (unplanned) egg laying after the party lights are installed?

Sorry couldn't resist... :D
