I used a half dose of Chemiclean on Friday afternoon. This afternoon I did a large water change like the bottle said, after the water change, I tried to turn the skimmer back on, but even with the standpipe all the way down, it starts to overflow with in 60 seconds. should I just leave the skimmer off for another day or so? I also put in a fresh batch of carbon after the water change.

I'd say at least 24 hours; I put some in my tank about a year ago--and it took FOREVER to get my water back to where it should be--hopefully you'll have better luck--but I let my cyano get really bad before i did anything.

I held off as long as I could, but the cyano was getting pretty bad on my sand. I'll try to turn the skimmer back on tommorow, and see if that helps.

Thanks

I had a problem with RS one time sucked it out, added some more flow and never saw it again.

Try to stay away from chemicals if you can.
:)

More water changes, carbon and waiting it out is your best bet.

I added some more flow syphoned most of it out and killed the lights for 2 days...Havent seen it since..That was around 3 months ago..
