I have my 20L frag tank connected to my 20L sump via an HOB overflow box. In addition, I have an Aquaclear 30 running on the frag tank primarily to run carbon. Could I just throw a bag of Chemipure in the overflow box and get rid of the Aquaclear 30?

The carbon bag may work better in the sump near the return pump. I have a peice of eggcrate that sits above my return pump and I have my carbon bag laying there catching the water coming over the baffle. It is somewhat passive but that seems to work for me. :)

The aquaclear30 may also be a good source of flow for your frag tank. 150 GPH is a good basic flow for a 15g. I would consider keeping it around as it can also be used for quick cleanup by adding a filter pad for a few hours after a "deep cleaning".

Thanks Sam! With the OR 2500 in the return I don't really have any extra room in there. Once I put the 2500 in with the original 1.25" u-tube it really blew everything around the tank so I was looking for a little less flow in there. That's why I'm questioning the placement of the Chemipure since I only have the AquaClear in there to run some carbon. I also have a minjet 404 blowing along the bottom. For now I've taken the OR2500 back out and put the QuietOne 1200 back in with the 5/8" u-tube. I going to get a spraybar and then try the OR again. Hopefully, the spraybar will diffuse the flow from the OR so it's not blowing everthing over.

Otherwise, I'll need to try a pump that runs arond 450gph and maybe a 3/4" or 1" u-tube.
