I lose about 1 gallon/week on a 55g. I see that that that aqauliftets seems to be poplular . I also see you one can use more power pumps. Despite the redubndant ATO water levels systems that I purchased and I will be installing, I am always concerned anout their failure and pumping 15 gallons of make up water on the flow within 10 minutes. The lower flow rates of the aqualifer to seem to be a way to obviate that. What do you think?

Make one
a> its cheaper and just as reliable but get a dual switch.

you can always add a ball valve inline on the pump as well to dial down the flow too....besides ya want the top off water to go in slowly.....i oredered my ATO from autotopoff.com last night......and im using a beckett versa 210 pump to do top off...with the flow turn down

I am sorry, I meant a gallon a day, 1.5 during the height of the summer. I brought the ATO. I will use a real pump and just cut down the flow. Thansk!

I've already mentioned this to you but I like the little minijet 404 pump on my ATO. I've run mine dry for days at a time and its still kicking. I don't worry about the volume of water because that is what a backup float switch is for
