I've had a clam for about 3-4 months now and he always seemed happy. today i woke up and saw him open but sunken in. i take a look at him and he had mucus all over him and just wasn't looking good. the only thing i think could've done anything was my long tentacled anemone that just moved behind him. first off, does he look dead from the picture. second, if he does, could it have been the anemone. third, if he looks like he can be saved, what should i do. thank you. (also, i always see my little clown goby on it, could he possibly do anything?)

I can't tell much for the pictures. Appears to still have color. Does it close the shell at all when touched? If not, I'd agree...it's a goner and the clean up crew will be moving in for the remains. Clams are tough and sometimes even the most experienced of us will lose one for no apparent reason.

Sorry man, that clam is donezo. I don't seem to keep maximas well, but I've had my derasa over a year. They do seemingly suffer mysterious deaths from time to time.
