Clean up crew

My 65g has been up and running for 2 weeks, last week. LFS said it was ready for clean up crew. I said I would wait because I have not received my lights yet. I hope to get them at the end of January, that is when they are scheduled to arrive.

Do I need lights for the clean up crew?

No. But what's the big rush? Do you have algae? If not they will starve or you will need to feed them.

With my first aquarium I had to have them according to LFS before getting fish.. I thought maybe they helped with the cycle.

A little before fish is fine just not too long. Try need something to "clean up".

The main purpose of my clean up crew was to keep me patient while waiting for things to be good enough for fish and corals

Very true. When you think that you are ready to add the first thing to the tank....wait another week or two. I know it is hard but patience will win in the long run.
