Cleaning a skimmer

Does anybody clean the bubble chamber of their skimmer? I am guessing if that is keep clean it improves the skimming.

only clean the cup......if I tear down the skimmer for any reason. then I hose it all out..

I am having the same proble with the new skimmer on ther 40 gal. It is getting some algae inside since it is so close to the fuge light, so I was wondering the same thing. I guess I will leave it for now.

Brandon that is my same issue, not a lot but it is there.

I clean the whole cup including the "nose" into the cup. Alot of gunk builds up there, should I be cleaning that off?

I have also been worried about the algea in the skimmer tube. But now I just let it go and just clean the cup out once a week.
