I purchased a used 150 gallon and cannot seem to get this off the glass. Any ideas?

If it's just calcium deposit, vinegar.

Anything else- vinegar and a razor blade

Lol I was thinking the same thing I'm looking at it on my iPad thinking is it the scratches I see or something else lol

Not the scratches, thats the back of the tank where the rock has been against it. I meant the calcium buildup. I thought I was being wise by cleaning it with oxalic acid but that didn't seem to work at all. So vinegar for sure then?

Its 150 gallons, you think 1 gallon of vinegar would knock it off?

To quote George Burns "Take two. There big." LOL. Seriously, as cheap as vinegar is I would go two gallons.

ARC....so nerdy our President breaks bones while bowling. :-)

Sorry....I missed that. What you want is a 50% ratio of water:vinegar. So if you're going to put 10 gallons in the tank for cleaning...use 5 gallons of vinegar. Honestly, it doesn't have to soak for long.

Well i bought some vinegar the other night in preparation for this. I only bought 2 gallons though and it was $2.80 a gallon. Doing that math it would cost about $210 in vinegar to get to that ratio (filled 1:2). I was told that CLR would do the trick as well but I am in no hurry to use a super caustic liquid like that.

or you could put paper towel on the glass and spray with straight vineger just spray it down nice and wet let it sit for a couple hours and u should be able to easily scrape off
