I understand that after using the blender making coral and fish food you have a cleaning process to make blender safe for human use, I'd like some help if anyone knows how........

Thanks for nay help

Anything that you feed your fish should be relatively edible if not totally edible (taste is another thing all together).

For me it wasn't about making it safe, it was about getting the god awful stench out of it. And I have a crazy expensive blend-tec blender so it wasn't like I was gonna toss the pitcher.

I soaked mine in soapy water for a few hours, washed it and then ran it through the dishwasher and it came clean. Hasn't killed me yet so I'd say it's safe.

I soaked mine in a 25% bleach solution for a couple hours. Then let it sit out in the sun for a few hours. Seemed to do the trick and I made enough food for 6 months for $45!

Go to salvation army and buy one for $2... you not only will keep your life (if the woman of your house found out....) but you probably saved the planet from lots of extra bleach and soap going down the drain, not to mention electric running the dishwasher

Many thanks all, it's a Vita Mix so not likely to throw out....I'll follow these ideas.

:yay:
