Cleaning tank for setup

I am building a stand for my tank and need to clean it and test the new stand.

Can I use my hose to fill it up with some vinegar and a small pump to clean it?

Will the brass fittings do anything detrimental to my future inhabitants?

You should be good with this, that's how I do it. I also rinse well with RODI water after.
