I purchased a new 200 micron filter sock and when I put it in the sump it foamed up the water like it had soap in,which it did not. What would cause that? Also it is now time to clean it , how should I go about that properly? Thanks in advance

Mine always make crazy micro bubbles when new. Just take it to the sink, turn it inside out, and rinse it out.

You can also wash them with a load of whites and bleach only, then give it an extra rinse cycle.
