Ok so today I was just watching my tank like I do daily lol and I saw this cleanish white worm come out of a rock and stretch to grab stuff off the rock and go back in multiple times. I've never seen it before and am very curious as to what the heck it is! Anybody know??? And if so what is it and is it harmful to my tank? I'd hate to have to replace that rock because it is very cool shaped not to mention it's the top of the cave assembled in my tank :/ in the picture it is right above the zoanthid.

And I know it's not an arm of one of those tiny little thin starfish looking guys bc I have seen those many times

Here's another pic

He also doesn't seem to have any type of legs idk though they might just be way to small to see :/

It's a clearish white color and resembles and tiny tube but he stretches out of this tiny hole grabs stuff off the rock around the hole then retreats back in the hole doing this over and over and over.

Probably a Peanut worm. Usually comes out more at night. Scavenger

Idk those look pretty big and those are more milky white than the one in my tank

Edit: But thx for the response! :)

All of the ones I have seen typically are small. The large rounded base is lodged inside the live rock. The more it stretches out the thinner the worm gets

Hmmm are they bad? I'll do some research on my own tonight of course just a couple need to know questions lol

Edit: Well hopefully it's just a peanut worm from what I've read they are completely reef safe and are harmless so if that's it thank you so much for the info if not thx anyways and hopefully someone else chimes in lol

They are fine. Tonight after your lights are off use a flashlight with a red reflector to view the worm in action.

Red reflector? Yea I def don't have one of those lying around lol

Edit: But thx so much man I hate seeing things like that that I don't know what they are lol there's always that devastation thought in the back of my head haha
