clown fish question

I'm wondering if I were to house a slightly larger perc clown with a smaller maroon clown if they paired would this keep the maroon from reaching its larger size allowing it to be kept in a nano tank?

In the wild the maroons are probably the most different in size. The adult male may only be an inch while the female keeps growing up to 5 inchs. If you have a juvi male with an older larger female they really don't grow much.

Thanks i found a juvinile gold nuget clown that i would like to get but didn't want it to turn female due to the size and how quickly they grow.
