Clown Goby Behavior/Feeding

I recently picked up a large (well....about 2" which is bigger than any clown goby I've seen), intensely colored green clown goby. I know they pretty much lay around but I've yet to see him eat. Seems plump and healthy, but I'd love to see him eat. I've introduced garlic soaked frozen (PE mysis, clam, squid, cyclopeeze, bloodworm, mix), live mysis, flake, and even threw a ball of my pod infested chaeto into the display in hopes of enticing him to eat. Am I just worrying about nothing here?

Our two gobies (different species, though... YWG and Blue Hannah goby) didn't eat for a few days after they came home with us. They also tend to hide, and only feed when nobody is standing near the tank.

I realize this isn't the same species, but hope it gives you at least a little help.

I don't know how long you've had it, but it took about a week before mine decided to eat. First I tried flakes, no go. Then I tried frozen and again no go. Finally I tried some zooplex coral food, and it would come out of hiding and swim around after adding that. It now eats a flake food and frozen super shrimp mixture.

He's actually out and swimming pretty good....especially for such a stationary fish....and appears "plump". I'll let him go a few more days and if I still haven't seen him eat I may pull him out and place into a small QT till I can confirm he's eating. I know they are a cheap little fish, but I find the color facinating and on par with most wrasses and don't want to lose him Instead of the traditional green with reddish stripes/spots, this one is almost electric blue with vibrant stripes. Almost looks like one of those colorchanging chameleon paint jobs.

It is very hard to get these guys to eat. I recommend cyclops to entice them to eat. I had to add a full cube of them to my tank to get it to realize it was there.

After a few days of that, and many water changes to keep nitrates down he eats like a pig now. Anything that goes in the tank he is out and about swimming for food. I have had mine for about a year and a half now.

I remember how stressful it was tryin g to get him to eat.
