Clown not hosting

My picasso clown which was hosting at the reef store is not hosting with my rose anemone....give him time?

Yep... if he was hosting before, he should figure it out even though IMO clowns ain't that smart.

Was it a bta he was hosting? Usually, if they have that instinct, they will use it...

It's not their natural host. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, and sometimes it just takes a while.

When I first got my Picasso it took them about 2 months to actually host my RBTA, so give them sometime.

Always heard people would put pictures of clowns hosting a bta all over their tank and it would somehow get them to host. Another trick I have heard is, put the rbta and clowns in a strainer/basket so they don't have a choice other than finding the nem. Just becareful about them jumping.

becca - are your maroons aggressive with your bta? - mine seem to really beat up on gbta while loving on it.

to the OP - give it time, if it hosted at the LFS, its possible it will host in the nem you have - wait it out.

My Ocellaris pair took well over 3 months to discover my RBTA. They may well do it eventually, but tank raised clowns can be different.
