You mean from me? If memory serves those were our friend James' clowns - about 5 years old now.

Looks like Brooklynella. Have you added any other new fish recently? Other fish can carry it and not necessarily show symptoms.

Quarantine and formalin based treatment ASAP!

Jenn

Yes jenn I don't know what happen they wore do in great in till this morning.

Did you add any new fish recently? That could be the cause.

Whatever the cause, time is of the essence - get them treated ASAP. Brooklynella can kill within hours (it doesn't always but it can).

Jenn

Brooklynella is the worst! Qt ASAP!! I got a fish a few years back that ended up having it and all the fish in my tank were dead within a few days.

Is there anything I can treat whit out removing the fish out of my display tank?

Formaldehyde bath is the only thing I've heard of working. Jenn or one of the clown breeders may know of something else that would work. As Jenn said, time is of the essence and I have seen this kill within a few hours. Best of luck

My are eating like pigs and swimming fine but they do have that white slime on there body not much one more then the other one.
I don't want to remove them because every time we remove a fish they get stressed

Something has/is stressing them now. I have no idea what, or what exactly to do. I have a 12g aio tank that I use for qt. If I were to see some strange slime pop up after moving them or a stressful event, I might qt. I'd start with the General Cure meds ,I believe it's API metronidazole/praziquantel. If there were any lesions I'd use the antibiotic- I believe it's erythromycin. If this is Brook you need to use formaldehyde -like Rid-Ich, Formalin-3. I can't tell from the pictures, but really there isn't any meds you can use in a reef tank with coral. You'll have to qt and do daily water changes.

Yes I know but every store is close know and what I did is put metranidazol on the food and they eat really good i was thinking to give them a fresh water deep for know in till tomorrow so I can get the right medicine what do you guys think?

I do a fw dip if it's Ich or some other external parasite you are trying to remove. I'm not sure if that is the case here, but I use ro water at the same temp and sometimes I try to match the ph with a little baking soda, but it's hard to get it right.

I really appreciate you guys for your help special Fernando from the fish store he call me a few times to make sure everything was ok some times you call other people expecting to call back and nothing but I guess not everyone is the same I deep the fish in fresh water I hope it works and tomorrow I will get the right treatment for it thanks.

Fernando knows his stuff.

Metronidazole won't help this. Freshwater dip may help slow it down a bit, but PLEASE... quarantine and treat with a formalin based medicine. Formalin-3 is hard to find anymore but Hikari Ich-X has formalin in it and I can tell you from direct experience that it works on Brookynella. You cannot use that medication in a reef, they MUST be treated in a separate tank.

I'd hate to see you lose those fish - I know their history from when they were little... please get them treated tomorrow early if they survive the night.

Jenn

Thanks jenn I will do it first thing in the morning I hate to loose this beautyful fish there eating fine and swimming fine so hopefully be ok tomorrow.

That's a good sign but don't let it fool you into thinking they'll just get over it.

They won't, without intervention.

Yes i give them a fresh water deep last night and this morning I can barely see anything on them there eating great and swimming fine so hopefully they be ok thanks for asking?

This is how they look know

Hmmm I'd still treat them. FW dip slows it down some but I've never seen it cured that way.

I stick by my suggestion to QT and treat. Thing is, every fish in the tank is a potential carrier now :-/ Treating the clowns might get rid of it on them but the minute they go back in the display they can be reinfested.

It's your call but I'd be treating them all.

Jenn

I know jenn I was going to put them on a qt but every time we move fish to a qt they get stressed even more I'm going to take my chance whit leaving them on my display and hopefully they be ok.

I read a lot last night about the brooklynella and they said usually they don't last even a day ore hours this guys are eating like crazy ,swimming around fine.
I hope I'm doing the right thing.
