Colt coral mystery

So I had a nice sized colt coral colony that had always been doing great in my tank. Maybe like 2 months ago I fragged a couple pieces off. It was ticked off for like a week but was back to normal afterwards. During this week it has just completely melted away to nothing and I don't have the slightest clue why????

Bummer. I've seen them do that too, and never figured out why, even in rock-solid-stable tanks.

Ive seen it happen and with xenia too, both cases was due to a large salinity drop.

My Xenia did the same thing, though its back now But thats xenia.
