Concentrating Phytoplankton

My phyto factory has been up and running for a couple weeks now.

After I've separated some phyto to use and placed it into the fridge, the next morning it appears to have separated... Can I syphon out the clear water from the super dark green mass that settles? Essentially creating a super concentration of my phytoplankton.
