Confused over SALT IO and RC

ok.. am I thinking wrong>? Doesn't IO and RC come from the same manf?

Yes. What are you confused about? Many manufacturers make multiple salts. In fact, there are only a couple of companies that "make" the salt; they add different additives per the different brands' instructions.

I'm aware of this.. I use SeaChem... there is a normal salt and SeaChem Reef.. same Idea.

I guess I just see a lot of refs to IO and RC as if they were two totally different salts...

I know a lot of folks ahve gotten the brown goo crap with RC.. is IO the same issue, or is it due to an additive in the RC?
 
some folks get it.. and some do.. theres a big long thread on it.. or there was... on RC about it.

its actually what made me change to SeaChem Reef.

They are two different salts; just like the 2 Seachem salts.

A lot of salts get the "goo". It's nothing to be concerned about. Aquarium Systems mixes RC, IO and the Seachem salts, so the base salt is the same on all of these.
 
And all 4 salts (IO, RC, Seachem Marine and Seachem Reef) are packaged by the same entity.
