Considering adding a snowflake eel

I have had a reef tank for at least 15 years but never owned an eel. I am in the process of a reboot on my 40g breeder and only have a few corals in there at the moment so it seems like the perfect time to consider adding an eel.

Have you guys had one? Any advice?

How did you avoid getting bitten when doing water changes?

Mine was cool . Had him for about 3yrs , he jumped out a lot ,but never tried to bite me.

Years ago, I had ribbon eels. While they are beautiful, I finally gave up trying to ‘eel proof’ the tank. I realized that it was nearly impossible to prevent them from climbing out.
