I starting the " cycle" a little while ago. I've done this before and I'm use to the diatoms all over rock and sand. This time around however. I have almost 0 crown crud on my rock and sand. I used the man made stuff that already purple and live Fiji pink sand. Which would be also if it wasn't for the fact that my glass completely a gets an algae film on it every day. Is this normal or is this unique case?

Well, I have never used the man made rock, so I am interested to see if the algae is related to it. Everything else sounds normal, and the rock is the only "new" attribute.

I use all eco friendly rock in one of my tanks , I haven't noticed anything negative regarding it or algae.
Id look at the tds on your rodi , high silicate and or phosphate are the 2 primary slime growers I've noticed for myself
