I grew in Florida and would see this all the time. It's really embarrassing to have to take a leak and everything starts glowing around you.

This happens during certain seasons in savannah too. We first saw it late one night when we were out shark fishing in the intercoastal waterways. It's a Pretty cool sight.

When John McCain was flying Navy Fighters he was coming in for a night time landing where the ship was blacked out. For some reason, he lost all avionics. He tells the story that he was paniced at first because he was afraid he would not be able to find the ship. Then, he noticed the algae glowing from the prop wash of the carrier and followed it to the ship. Just one of those cool stories I seem to never forget. Of course I can't remember my name each morning but that is another story that has to do with my actions in the 70s.
