Hi everyone,
I have quiye a few of these and i need to know what is the best way to get them out of the refuguim tank to put them in my DT? I cab't seem to get them in a net or fish them out with a cup. These things are breeding like rabbits...LOL:lol2:

I do this

Have a little fishing line attached and pull it out and then put it in the main tank for a day.

Mine are usually bound up in some chaeto or some other type of plant. I usually just grab a handfull of the plant matter and dip it into the DT repeatedly to make the pods fall out into the water. I also can just hold it above the water, and they come falling out looking to get back to some water.

What all do you have in your refugium? As long as it isn't too dirty, just grab a handfull of whatever. LOL...

Best of Luck!!!

Sounds about like something I'm setting up. I'm setting up a small 10g tank just to raise pods and shrimp. Is yours in a place that it's hard to get to? These things are so small, if you stick a small hose to the bottom of the sump, and siphon, plenty of them will be sucked out...

No not really...I have mine sitting on a small table in the fish room. If I put any in the DT I have to do it when the lights are out. I have a blue spotted puffer that just loves them...LOL

Try the siphon thing, then to get them out. You can siphon them out into a net, and dunk the net into the DT. That will also keep the pod water from getting into your DT.

I also use a turkey baster to sometimes. This enables me to squirt the pods down into and behind the rocks in my DT. I let them get situated for a while before I turn the lights and powerheads back on. Any pods that haven't got settled in are an instant meal. The others will get eaten eventually.
