Coral Food

Frozen baby brine shrimp, but I used to feed DT's oyster eggs.

I feed a lil bit of everything, variety is the spice of life :) Brine shrimp, mysis, cyclopeeze and a blender mix of some of the above with some squid, and whatever else was around to make it in the blender.

What type of coral are you feeding? LPS tend to like larger, meatier portions, whereas SPS need smaller foods they can collect with their polyps. "Softies" can go either way, depending upon the species (ex - hairy mushrooms versus gorgonians).

And as others have said, the more diversity, the better! My favorite (well, the corals') is cyclopeeze. They also love mysis; although it's mostly for my seahorses, all the coral go nuts when I feed the tank.

Cyclopeze, DT, Kent Phytoplex, a version of Eric Borneman's mush including oyster eggs and a bunch of other stuff. I also dose Kent Coral Vite.

+1..a nice mixture is the key, mysis, brine, cyclo, flakes, shrimp, clams, and I mix in some live phyto and amino supplements. So not only do the corals get fed, inverts, fish and fine filter feeders get their share also. Search out coral food recipes and you will come across several on the web. Just make the concoction that works for your needs!

I have mostly softies / LPS. I mix frozen cyclopeeze, mysis, brine, zooplankton in a cup of tank water to thaw and then gently target feed my corals. Then I give a couple of small squirts to the tank in general. 1 or 2 times per week.

Custom DIY recipe mixed in the blender... Have enough cubes to feed my tank for a year atleast :)
