I have no idea what this is? I have had it for a couple of months and it hasn't done much until recently. At night, one of the tubes extends straight up and feeder tentacles come out. Curious what it is.

Is it soft and fleshy or hard?

I would say soft b/c the flex and bend in different directions. With that said... it's not like they "flow" with current... They stay predominantly bent/curled like the one in the forefront but every now and again they extend straight up.
