Lost a clam several months ago but this coral volunteered on its shell. Any idea of type or if it has a name.

Interesting. Looks maybe like an encrusting deepwater Acropora, but that's just a wild guess.

It looks a bit like Acropora echinata, but the encrusting bits make me wonder if it's going to table for you. Maybe Acropora efflorescens?

Those are my guesses.
