Coral Placement - IM 30L

I’ve recently gotten back into the hobby after my 17 year sabbatical. I will say a whole lot of things have changed and there’s a lot more information now. The technology has definitely improved, I’m looking for a couple of MP10’s. If anyone has an extra one for sale, please shoot me a PM.

I’m currently running a Kessil AP9X and I totally love the spectrum and shimmer. However, it’s far from blanket T5 style lighting. I rented a par meter from Optimum last week and made a map of my aquascape. I’m shooting for LPS dominant with maybe a couple of easier SPS at the higher par spots. I’m concerned that I probably only have enough flow for the SPS at the top right side of the scape.

Again, there’s a lot information out there about what corals can go next to what corals and who’s going to kill who. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

If your mainly doing lps i would put them at the bottom. They need very little flow. As far as sps if you just got back in. I would wait till your tank is at least a year old. It seems your tank is empty so you got plenty of time to move your coral around the tank to their happy spot

I main tank has both LEDs and T5s. I get the best of both world. You can check out my build and configuration on this forum. Personally, i don't believe in expensive LEDs. I use standard black boxes from Amazon, and they have been running for 10 years. I have to replace T5s a lot more often than LEDs.
