I have about 85 lbs of very good live rock in a 75 gallon tank.

On the rock I see several varieties of healthy algae growing on them. The colors range lavender, maroon, purple and a light green. On my tank glass, I have lavender and purple coralline algae growing.

Over the last month I’ve noticed a kinda florescent green color growing on the glass as well. Initially I thought it was some type of green algae (it still might be) but when I touch it it’s feels hard almost like the more common forms of coraline algae. In order to remove it I’d definitely have to scrape it. My clean up crew doesn’t bother it and there is no hair like strands hanging from it like a normal nuisance algae. This stuff is growing at a speed of at least 10 to 1 compared to the other colors.

Is the green stuff healthy or should I scrape it from my tank walls?

I have green but its not coraline from what i have been told. Though I have HAD green coraline algae it doesn't look anything like what the tiny little green spots I have growin on my glass.

If its hard and calcareous then it's coraline. If it's slimey and soft, it's not, hard to say without pics.

I've had that bright green coraline myself, so yes, it does happen. As the tank matures, the lighting ages a bit, you may go through several color phases.
